Services
In addition to the expected expertise in architectural design, we help clients avoid potential problems with project development by focusing on:
- Entitlement Processing
- Code Expertise
- Project Management: Scheduling & Budgeting
Marty Zwick has expertise in resolving entitlement issues as both a planning commissioner and as an architect presenting to many Bay Area planning commissions. Zwick Architects has learned to create consensus. This helps to diminish opposition to projects whether they are corporate headquarters, renovations of historic buildings, or single-family homes on highly visible sites. We look for the common ground by meeting early in the process with concerned clients, neighbors, and town officials. By listening to and addressing neighborhood issues, Zwick Architects often turns opposition into cooperation.
We know how to work with building and planning departments. At the onset of a project, we develop a preliminary code analysis for both departments, meet with them to achieve consensus, and often have them visit the site. These efforts pay off by getting issues addressed early in the process. Often we work with government officials to interpret grey areas of codes in a way that will promote the concerns of the community and our clients' interests.
During the initial stages of the project, Zwick Architects establishes an appropriate team to deliver the project on time and on budget. We incorporate the client's requirements and the contractor's cost saving ideas into the project from its inception.
